OUTCOMES – Embedding Australian Indigenous perspectives within the classroom

Embedding Australia Indigenous Perspectives within the classroom – Develop an interactive website portfolio of resources, promoting emerging professional practice in the Early Adolescence multi-literate classroom. Enabling the exemplary teacher to explore new strategies, to promote ways to successfully integrate and embed Australia Aboriginal perspectives within the classroom community, and in the curriculum outcomes :

 

Outcome 1: Knowledge and Understandings

Students understand the factors and actions that influence health.

In achieving this outcome, students:

·   understand the determinants of health;

·   understand actions and strategies that influence health; and

·   understand frameworks, models and theories to explain health concepts.

Outcome 2: Beliefs, Attitudes and Values

Students understand the influence of beliefs, attitudes and values on health.

In achieving this outcome, students:

·   understand the relationships between beliefs, attitudes, values and health behaviours;

·   understand how the varied influences on attitudes and values impact on health behaviours; and

·   understand the construction, promotion and transmission of values related to health.

The key learning area offers exemplary teachers and students’ opportunities to develop knowledge, processes, skills and attitudes necessary for making informed decisions about:

·   Promoting the health of individuals and communities;

·   Developing concepts and skills for physical activity;

·   Enhancing personal development.
